In the hit film, Paltrow plays the role of Emma Woodhouse, a young woman in 19th century England who focuses on finding romantic partners for her friends.

The film became a box office hit, grossing nearly $40 million worldwide on a production budget of less than $8 million.

He earned two Academy Award nominations; one for costume design and one for original score, the latter winning.

Elsewhere in her chat with Evans, Paltrow criticized superhero movies for lacking originality, despite having previously starred in the “Iron Man” films.

The mother of two said there has been an active focus on quantity over quality in the Marvel franchise.

“If I look at the industry as a whole, there’s kind of a big push toward superhero movies,” he explained.

“I mean, you can only make so many good ones that feel truly original, and yet you still have to try to reach as many people as possible, which sometimes gets in the way of quality, specificity, or real insights” .

Paltrow added that some movies she’s been a part of during her brilliant career simply wouldn’t be greenlit today.

“So, I mean, you’re absolutely right,” he added. “I grew up making those movies and sometimes I regret it. “I look back at some of the movies I made in the ’90s and think they just wouldn’t be made now.”

Paltrow has since stepped away from the acting scene and focused all of her focus on her successful lifestyle brand Goop, which she launched in 2008.
