Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has apologized for the server’s current “capacity issues” and says it is working to “increase server capacity to accommodate everyone.”

Following a commitment to give all players 50 percent XP and a claim bonus to compensate for “an issue” giving incorrect rewards at the end of missions, Helldivers 2’s Steam concurrent count continues to rise, which, in turn, it apparently had a significant impact on server stability.

“Despite our best efforts to increase server capacity to accommodate all those who want to dive for Freedom, we are experiencing capacity issues,” the team said in a statement posted to X/Twitter over the weekend.

“Once again we are working without delay to improve the issue and hope to have a solution as soon as possible. Thank you.”

That was several hours ago but, as of this writing, there have been no further updates or confirmation on when Arrowhead expects the servers to finally stabilize.

Helldivers 2 is now Playstation’s biggest Steam release, recording over 300,000 concurrent users on the PC platform this weekend. Up until this point, Sony Santa Monica’s God of War reboot held the record with 73,529 concurrent users.

Last week, Helldivers 2 creative director and Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt said they believed games should “earn the right to monetize,” adding that while players can “support this title” with DLC and microtransactions , Arrowhead “will never force anyone to do it.” so”.
