After the great success of Premalu and Bramayugam, another film titled Manjummel Boys started its journey at the box office with a bang. Manjummel Boys had more buzz than these other two hit films even before its release and hence the film recorded strong advance bookings.
The film received exceptional reviews and word of mouth from its morning show. Manjummel Boys grossed around Rs 15 crore worldwide in two days, of which Rs 6.65 crore came from Kerala. The weekend bookings are notable and going by the trend, the film can earn around Rs 35 crore gross in its four-day extended weekend. As the spoken language is extremely good, Manjummel Boys also has a good chance of crossing the 100 crore gross mark.
Waiting during business days will give us a clear idea of the final figure. Manjummel Boys is a survival thriller based on a true incident in which some friends embark on a trip to Kodaikanal. The film features Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Basi, Balu Varghese, Ganapati S Poduval, Jean Paul Lal, Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Arjun Kurian and others in pivotal roles.
Directed by Chidambaram, the film is jointly bankrolled by Soubin Shahir and Shawn Antony under the banner Parava Films. Sushin Shyam composed the tunes.
