NEW DELHI: In the absence of big names like Virat Kohli and KL Rahulindian pattern Rohit Sharma He leads his team from the front in all five games Test series against England. Rohit smashed his second century of the series when he scored a brilliant 103 on Day 2 of the fifth Test in Dharamsala.
Rohit did not start the series on a positive note, making scores of 24 and 39 in the first two innings of the first Test. Boycott expressed that at 37, Rohit, having registered just two centuries in the last two years at home, seems to be done in the format.
“Their captain, Rohit Sharma, is almost 37 and past his prime. He makes nice cameos, but has only scored two Test hundreds at home in four years,” Boycott had written in his column for The Telegraph.
But the boycott attack on Rohit did not go down well with his fans and he said that he still has the strength to dismantle any attack on bowling in the world.
“Rohit’s supporters stop defending the indefensible. He has been a super batsman and is still good, but no one improves after the age of 36. We all decline in physical fitness, reactions, speed of thinking, stamina etc. doesn’t mean we don’t. can make races, but he has to use all his experience to combat his age,” Boycott responded.
After Rohit’s second century of the series, fans took to social media once again, engaging in trolling against Boycott for his critical comments about him.
