Hoda Kotb hopes to see singer Kelly Rowland Back in “Today with Hoda and Jenna” soon.
The “Mea Culpa” star left the NBC studio last week ahead of a scheduled appearance to fill Kotb’s co-host spot on “Hoda & Jenna,” while Jenna Bush Hager had a day off, but Kotb saying during Tuesday’s episode of the show that she only has “love” for Rowland.
“I have great love and admiration for Kelly Rowland,” Kotb said. “I love her and I want her to come back to our program.”
Rowland, who appeared on a previous hour of “Today” as a guest, reportedly She ended up leaving the studio before her co-hosting gig after expressing her displeasure with the dressing room she was given.
Without directly confirming the reports, Kotb said Tuesday that when Rowland returns to her show, she will be able to share her dressing room.
“We’re going to be in this together,” Kotb said, laughing. “I just want to say that we love her. “We have loved her on this show for many, many, many years.”
CNN has reached out to Rowland’s representative for comment.
Singer Rita Ora replaced Rowland as Kotb’s co-host, who on Tuesday said “came in at the last second and really did a phenomenal job.”
“We have great women on this show,” she added, and Hager nodded in agreement.
In a comedic turn of events, Rowland appeared on Monday’s episode of Sherri Shepherd’s show and was apparently well-served, at least according to an Instagram comment Shepherd left on her show’s official page.
“Oh, we gave him a lovely room!” Shepherd wrote in the comments, responding to a user who commented on his assumption that Rowland’s dressing room was “acceptable.”
It remains to be seen if Rowland will return to “Hoda & Jenna.”
Meanwhile, Kotb and Hager jokingly agreed during Tuesday’s show that Hager won’t be allowed to take a day off again until 2026.
