Hogwarts Legacy

It’s a bit strange that Hogwarts Legacy, the best-selling game of 2023, surpassing even Call of Duty, has received almost no significant updates throughout its entire release year. No, it’s not a live game, but with that level of success, maybe you’d expect something arrive one way or another, or at least the official announcement of DLC or a preview of a sequel.
Now, in 2024, that is changing to some extent. The official Hogwarts legacy Twitter account I had this to say about what’s coming this year, which appear to be real and significant updates, albeit with just one detail so far:
The PlayStation exclusive content they’re referring to is a pretty cool Haunted Hogsmeade quest, which gives access to a store and Shopkeeper cosmetics. I assume it will arrive on the first anniversary of the game’s release, based on its agreement with Sony.
As for “game updates and features,” details will be “in the coming months” and will reveal what kind of content is coming this year. Again, there’s no indication how major or minor this is, but if they bother to preview this way it will definitely be more than just bug fixes. Paid DLC? It’s possible, although I’d say it’s probably unlikely. I think Portkey is probably moving full speed ahead for a full sequel right now.
This occurs as a result of a recent Variety article detailing WB’s big new plans for the video game, inspired in part by the massive success of Hogwarts Legacy. But those plans, orchestrated by the infamous David Zaslav, include live games for ongoing income, something that is completely opposite to Hogwarts Legacy, a dedicated single-player game with no live content and not even a cash shop. WB is about to release the extremely live-action, microtransaction-heavy Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League on Tuesday, but frankly, I’d be surprised if Harry Potter games were allowed to be as unique as Hogwarts Legacy in the future. even if that were so. much of its appeal. The earnable cosmetics and lack of battle passes were part of what made it great.
I don’t know, it’s possible that this new content for Hogwarts Legacy can paid as an effort to get more money from the huge best-seller. I doubt it’s a cash store or something, but if they can come up with something resembling DLC, I bet they would easily sell millions of copies for $15 or $20 or whatever. But it looks like we’ll have to wait potentially months to hear more.
