LUTON, United Kingdom – Two clubs with different goals meet on Sunday, as Manchester United prepare to take on Luton Town in English Premier League action.

Manchester United may have had a miserable start to the 2023-24 season, but they gained momentum at the right time and have slowly edged closer to the top tier of the table. After beating Aston Villa away last Sunday, the Red Devils have won their last three league games, four in all competitions, and have not lost since December 30. They went from a club asking for the head of coach Erik ten Hag to having the opportunity to sneak into the top four.
Heading into Sunday, ManU are sixth in the standings, six points behind Tottenham Hotspur in fifth place and eight behind Aston Villa in fourth place, the final qualifying spot for the UEFA Champions League.
Luton Town are not playing for any place in the Champions League, they are simply fighting to remain in the Premier League.
After losing to bottom-placed Sheffield United last Saturday, the Hatters have only emerged victorious in four of their last five league games, including a wild 4-4 draw against Newcastle United two weeks ago. They have to wait for the fifth round of the FA Cup, where they will play against the reigning champions in Manchester City, they have to concentrate on trying to score points in the EPL game.
Luton Town are just above the bottom three, just one point ahead of Everton who are 18th in the table.
Manchester United recorded a 1-0 victory over Luton Town in their first meeting in November and is 30-7-4 against the Hatters.
