Vaibhav Gupta won the 14th season of the singing reality show Indian Idol. Based in Kanpur, Vaibhav won a trophy, a cash prize of $25 lakh and a Maruti Suzuki Brezza on Sunday night, according to Indianexpress.com. The other finalists of the show were Anjana Padmanabhan, Ananya Pal, Piyush Panwar, Subhadeep Das and Adya Mishra. Vaibhav wants to “enter Bollywood now”
As per the report, Vaibhav said, “It feels good to call myself the winner of Indian Idol 14. People love me a lot. Dreams are coming true, this is just the beginning. God willing, I wish to enter Bollywood now. With the love and appreciation he was receiving, he was hoping he could win this. Especially when Mahesh Bhatt whistled at me, I loved that moment. “I keep replaying it in my head.”
Vaibhav wants to sing playback for Salman, Vicky and Ranveer
Vaibhav also shared, “Now I want to sing playback for Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh. I will do everything I can to make this happen one day. I want to recover live music, of the symphonic type. The 90s sensation is now making a comeback. People are listening to Kishore Da again and this generation is focusing more on the melody. It is a very good era of music and I want to present a new wave in it.”

Sony Entertainment Television took to Instagram to share a video of Vaibhav receiving the trophy. The caption read, “We are delighted to announce Indian Idol winner @vaibhavgupta_sings, who returns home in style with a new Maruti Suzuki Brezza.” Sharing a photo of Vaibhav with the trophy he said, “Kanpur’s youngest Sethji is the winner of Indian Idol season 14 – Vaibhav Gupta!!!”
The grand finale had Sonu Nigam as a special guest. Indian Idol season 14 had Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani and Kumar Sanu as judges. Hussain Kuwajerwala hosted this season. Indian Idol 14 aired in October last year.
On the show, many celebrity guests were impressed by her voice. He was praised by Mahesh Bhatt, singer Sukhwinder Singh and Hrithik Roshan. Karisma Kapoor, another guest on the show, congratulated Vaibhav saying that she reminded her of Shammi Kapoor.
