Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for its remake of the 1989 action classic “road house”, which will be available to stream globally on Prime Video on March 21.
The featured stars Jake Gyllenhaal like a former UFC fighter struggling to make ends meet. After a tavern owner in the Florida Keys finds him sleeping in his car, Elwood Dalton becomes a bouncer and becomes embroiled in a war of outlaws and bikers (including real mixed martial arts artist-turned-actor debutant, Conor McGregor) and a developer. determined to build a luxurious complex for “rich assholes”.
“Shrinking” Star Jessica Williamswho confirmed Variety Last summer she joined the cast, playing the owner of a roadside bar. She described Gyllenhaal as a “crazy actor” in the interview.
“Every time you are learning. “My job as an actor, especially on ‘Shrinking,’ is to make everyone look good knowing what the hell I’m doing on set,” Williams said. “I love volleying and I get to do it with Jake.”

Doug Liman (“Edge of Tomorrow”) directs the film from a script written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry. After producing the original 1989 film, Joel Silver returns to produce for his company Silver Pictures along with JJ Hook, Alison Winter and Aaron Auch, who serve as executive producers.
The original film grossed a modest $30 million against a $15 million budget, but has since become a cult classic and is one of Patrick Swayze’s most beloved roles.
“I’m thrilled to put my own spin on the beloved ‘Road House’ legacy,” Liman shared in a statement. “And I can’t wait to show audiences what Jake and I are going to do with this iconic role.”
Silver added, “The original ‘Road House’ has a special place in my heart and I’m so excited to bring this newly imagined version to audiences around the world.”
