Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright separate after almost five years of marriage

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright went through a rough patch in their marriage and are “taking some time apart.”

Cartwright, 35, announced her and Taylor’s split. podcast, “When Reality Hits Jax and Brittany” Thursday.

“Yes, marriages in general are very difficult and I’ve had a particularly difficult year last year,” she said in the final minutes of the episode.

“Jax and I are taking some time apart and I made the decision to move to another house to have some space for the sake of my mental health.”

Cartwright did not divulge what led to the split after nearly five years of marriage, stating that he “won’t go into too much detail right now because it’s still very difficult to talk about.”

“I’m taking things day by day,” the reality star added. “I don’t know what the future holds, but right now my focus is on being the best mother to Cruz.”

Taylor, 44, and Cartwright tied the knot in their home state of Kentucky in June 2019 after dating for four years, most of which was documented on “Vanderpump Rules.”

The hit Bravo series, which Taylor has starred in since Season 1, captured the couple’s ups and downs, including when the former bartender cheated on Cartwright with another cast member, Faith Stowers.

Insiders previously told Page Six that the show’s producers allegedly “forced” the former Hooters waitress to stay with Taylor.

She was then present as the Bravo star went through other personal hardships, including when her father died of cancer in December 2017.

After getting married, Taylor and Cartwright had Cruz in April 2021, and fatherhood seemed to really calm the former party animal down.

However, it is unclear what led to the former couple’s split and their representatives declined Page Six’s request for further comment.

Cartwright, who surprisingly seemed somewhat cheerful in his podcast episode, asked his listeners to “pray” for them and remained hopeful that “everything will be okay.” We’re ok.”

Taylor, for her part, has not directly addressed the divide on social media. It is unknown if the couple plans to divorce.

Her new reality show, “The Valley,” premieres on Bravo on March 19.
