Jennifer Garner could join Ben Affleck in his latest film premiere.
The actress, who was married to the Oscar-winning filmmaker for 13 years, is in negotiations to star alongside Matt Damon in animalsa police thriller created on Netflix.
Affleck is directing the film and also producing with Damon through his Artists Equity banner, along with the company’s Dani Bernfeld. Brad Weston and Collin Creighton also produce through their MakeReady tile.
The pieces are still being put together, including Garner’s deal, but if everything falls into place, the thriller could be before cameras in Los Angeles as early as March.
Written by Connor McIntyre with revisions by Billy Ray, the crime thriller follows a mayoral candidate and his wife whose son is kidnapped. Surrounded by numerous enemies, political and otherwise, husband and wife have no choice but to get their hands dirty to save their son.
Garner would play the wife alongside Damon as a candidate.
Garner, who has proven her versatility through films and series ranging from comedies to romantic comedies to thrillers, is a Netflix favorite, having starred or co-starred in the streamer’s hits. Family Change, The Adam Project, and yes day.
Garner and Affleck have appeared in front of the camera together in a trio of films, all made before their marriage in 2005: 2001. Pearl Port2003 Recklessand the spin-off of that movie, electrareleased in 2005. However, it has not yet been directed by him.
Affleck and Garner divorced in 2018.
