Jeremy Renner opens up about whether he’s willing to reprise his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
talked with Entertainment tonight recently, more than a year after his near-fatal snowplow accident on January 1, 2023, about the possibility of returning to the Avengers franchise.
“I’m always willing to play,” Renner said. “I’ll be strong enough, that’s for sure. I’ll be ready.”
He mayor of kingstown The actor, who broke 30 bones after being run over by a 14,300-pound snowcat at his home in Reno, Nevada, also shared the support his MCU co-stars have provided.
“All those guys come to my bed and they’ve been with me throughout this whole recovery, so… if they want me, they could have me,” he added. “It would be something.”
Elsewhere in his interview, Renner provided an update on his health and recovery process.
“(I’m doing) probably 90 percent of all the things I needed to do… I think I’m looking forward to another six (more) months… I have to set goals. “I will do everything I can… whatever it takes to get better, to get stronger.” The wounded locker said the actor. “This recovery is a one-way street. The rest of my life is about health and wellness. Recovery will be part of the rest of my life, so I’m looking forward to it. There is always something to do to improve, to be stronger, to be happier, to be healthier, and that is what I hope.”
He added: “To be honest, it’s hard for me to look back. It’s hard for me to look forward. “I focus on the now and the next step ahead of me, because there is always another obstacle for me right now.”
Last month, Renner revealed that he had returned to work on his Paramount+ drama. mayor of kingstown, which began filming its third season. “First day on set… today I’m nervous,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “I hope this works and I can REALLY make it happen for our production and most importantly for the fans.”
When previously speaking about the devastating accident, Renner said he was trying to stop the PistenBully from hitting his nephew when he was dragged under it.
Then, in an April 2023 interview with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer, the actor shared that his ribcage had to be reconstructed with metal, along with metal plates in his face to support his eye socket and titanium rods in one of his legs. It was a long road to recovery for him and he continued to post updates to his fans on social media throughout the year.
