Jimmy Kimmel took a moment during the Oscars telecast just before Al Pacino took the stage to present best picture to “Oppenheimer” to read Donald Trump’s speech aloud. latest social media post who criticized Kimmel as host of this year’s Oscars.
“Has there EVER been a WORSE PRESENTER than Jimmy Kimmel at the Oscars?” Trump asked his followers. “Her opening of him was that of a below-average person trying too hard to be something he is not and can never be. Get rid of Kimmel and maybe replace him with another failed but cheap ABC ‘talent’, George Slopanopoulos. “It would make everyone on stage look bigger, stronger and more glamorous.”
“It’s also a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years: disjointed, boring, and very unfair,” Trump continued. “Why don’t they just give the Oscars to those who deserve them? Maybe then its audience and television ratings will return from the depths. LET’S MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Beyond Kimmel’s inquiry before the final award was announced, the 2024 Oscars were a largely Trump-free evening. However, politics continued to play a prominent role throughout the evening. Many Oscar attendees, including Mark Ruffalo and Billie Eilish, wore red pins in support of the ceasefire in Gaza. Protests related to the ongoing conflict in Gaza drew hundreds of attendees around the Kodak Theater and ended up blocking traffic so much that the ceremony started five minutes late as many celebrities arrived late.
When “Zero Zone” director Jonathan Glazer accepted the Oscar for best international film, he spoke about violence in the Middle East and drew parallels with the message of his scathing Holocaust drama.
“Our film shows where dehumanization leads at its worst,” Glazer said. “It shaped our entire past and present. Right now, we stand here as men refuting their Judaism and the Holocaust held hostage by an occupation that has driven so many innocent people into conflict. Whether it is the victims of October 7 in Israel or the ongoing attack on Gaza, all the victims of this dehumanization, how do we resist?”
This year was Kimmel’s fourth time hosting the Oscars.
