donald trump doesn’t seem to realize it’s not 2016 anymore, MSNBC Joe Scarborough suggested on Monday.
Case in point: the former president’s attack on Oscar host Jimmy Kimmel on his Truth Social platform during Sunday’s ceremony.
“Has there EVER been a WORSE PRESENTER than Jimmy Kimmel at the Oscars,” said Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee? wrote Sunday night. “Her openness to her was that of a below-average person trying too hard to be something she is not and can never be.”
This prompted Kimmel to respond live to the quadruple-impeached former president POTUS, asking him: “Hasn’t your time already been spent in jail?” – a line that caused a big laugh from the audience.
“That’s the thing, I guess he doesn’t understand it. He keeps walking into traps,” Scarborough said on Monday’s episode of “Morning Joe.”
“He’s like an old wrestler past his prime,” he continued. “The things that may have worked, that may have been disruptive six, seven (you know, 2016), everyone knows what’s coming.”
Trump was “the butt of the joke for millions and millions of people last night,” he added.
