Karol G thanks her fans after a terrifying mid-air emergency forced a plane to land in Van Nuys shortly after takeoff.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Karol G thanks her fans for their support a day after an mid-air emergency forced her private jet to land in Van Nuys.

The Grammy-winning singer’s plane had just taken off from Burbank on Thursday night when the pilot reported smoke in the cabin.

The plane turned at Cajon Pass and landed in Van Nuys, with emergency crews on standby. Karol G and other passengers on board appeared shaken by the incident, but unharmed as they embraced on the tarmac.

On Friday he posted a note on Instagram to fans who had expressed their support for the Colombian reggaeton singer.

“Thank you to everyone who has shown concern and who has sent messages,” he wrote in Spanish. “My family, my team and I are well and we are grateful for a new opportunity. God protects us and blesses us every day with life and health.”

Fans told Eyewitness News they were grateful she was okay and spoke about their connection to her music.

Edward Trejo saved up to take his mother and sister to one of Karol G’s concerts.

“My mom works 24/7. She works seven days a week,” Trejo said. “Being able to share that moment with her, bringing her to sing along with him, was very, very moving for me.”

He even got a tattoo of a barbed wire heart on his shoulder to match the singer’s, which is also painted on the outside of his jet.

Karol G’s latest album “Tomorrow will be nice” o “Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful” is the first Spanish-language album to debut at number 1 on the English Billboard 200 chart. He is currently on tour in Latin America and reportedly arrived on time for a scheduled concert in Guatemala on Friday.
