Kate Middleton and King Charles shared a “private lunch” the day before she announced her cancer diagnosis.
Her Majesty and the Princess of Wales, who have begun cancer treatment, reportedly “met for lunch” on Thursday, sources told People magazine.
King Charles is “progressing well” throughout his ongoing recovery, but the source added that the royal family is planning ahead for the summer without “committing to anything,” noting that any events will be “subject to the advice of the doctors at that time.

The King “has always had a very good bond with her,” author Sally Bedell Smith told the outlet. “She is interested in artistic things and she appreciates art and culture, so she has an affinity with the King because of that.”
Smith, who wrote “George VI and Elizabeth: The Marriage that Saved the Monarchy,” said Charles and Catherine now have another shared bond over their cancer diagnosis.

“Obviously they have this in common and we can only bring them closer,” he said. “It is a source of calm and comfort for both of us.”

In a video shared on Friday, the Princess of Wales revealed that she is also battling a form of cancer and has been receiving preventive chemotherapy treatment.
“It’s been an incredibly difficult couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have looked after me really well, which I’m very grateful for,” Kate said. “This, of course, came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing our best to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” she continued. “As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery to be able to begin my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken time for us to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them. them and assure them that I will be fine.
