A source revealed to a media outlet that Kate Middleton and Prince William plan to post a photo to celebrate Prince Louis’ sixth birthday next month. However, the couple are carefully considering who to choose as their photographer after the editing scandal they recently ended up in.
Louis’s birthday falls on April 23, a Tuesday in 2024, and the palace usually releases a photo of the prince a few days before that day. “They appreciate the public’s love and affection for their children and know there is a public appetite to see them on their birthdays,” a source told The Sunday Times.
Kate, who calls herself an “amateur photographer,” often takes informal photos of her children for their birthdays. This year, however, probably won’t be the same amid outrage and rumors about that “doctored” Mother’s Day photo.
The couple is yet to make a “firm decision” on whether Kate would click the photo for Louis’ birthday or a professional photographer, according to sources close to the couple. They also hope that the new image will not receive such criticism.

Several news agencies removed Kate’s Mother’s Day photo, published by Kensington Palace, claiming it had been manipulated. “On closer inspection it appears the source has manipulated the image,” the Associated Press said at the time. The Agence France-Presse stated that it was withdrawn due to “an editorial problem.”
Conspiracy theories began to emerge and some even feared that something was seriously wrong with Kate after her recent surgery. “Something is terribly wrong,” a source close to the situation told the New York Post. “The idea that Kate couldn’t sit down during a photo shoot tells me that this is a much more serious situation than anyone realizes.” Kate later apologized for the Photoshop errors.
