Kate Middleton Likely to Address Health Concerns at Public Event: Report

Kate Middleton can talk about her recovery during public engagements

New Delhi:

Amid speculation surrounding her months of public absence, Princess Catherine of Wales is likely to address her health issues at a public event.

Catherine, widely known by her maiden name, Kate Middleton, may speak about her recovery during her public engagements, according to the British newspaper. The Times reported on Saturday.

“I can see a world where the princess could talk about her recovery at her engagements. If she was going to do it, this is how she would do it,” a royal source told The Times.

“I hope that is their instinct and it will be their decision. They are not going to be in a hurry,” said the source quoted by the newspaper.

Kate and her husband, Prince William, are also expected to maintain the annual tradition of releasing a new photo to mark their children’s birthdays. The youngest, Prince Louis, will turn six on April 23.

Kate Middleton has not been seen since her abdominal surgery

Kate Middleton, 42, has not been seen in public since undergoing abdominal surgery in January, sparking speculation about her health.

A Jan. 17 announcement from the Kensington Palace office said the Princess of Wales was admitted to the London Clinic on Jan. 16 for “planned abdominal surgery.”

The surgery was successful, he added, and Kate was expected to stay in the hospital for 10 to 14 days.

Based on medical advice at the time, the princess was “unlikely to return to her public duties until after Easter” on March 31, the palace said.

“She hopes the public understands her desire to maintain as much normality as possible for her children and her desire for their personal medical information to remain private,” the statement added.

The palace later said the health problem was not related to cancer.

Kensington Palace shares ‘altered’ image of Kate Middleton

In an attempt to dispel rumors about her health, Kensington Palace shared an official photo of Kate Middleton with her children on March 10.

The photograph, taken by William, showed Kate smiling and looking healthy surrounded by Princes George, Louis and Princess Charlotte.

“Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the past two months,” the palace issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter), signed by “C” for Catherine. “I wish you all a happy Mother’s Day.”

The image attracted a lot of media attention as it was his first official photograph since spending two weeks in the hospital after surgery.

However, several major news agencies said it was an “altered” image and removed it.

After the reaction on social media, Kate Middleton apologized and admitted to editing the photo.

“Like many amateur photographers, I experiment with editing from time to time,” issued another statement from the palace, signed “C.” “I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion caused by the family photo we shared yesterday.”

The episode has since increased speculation about Kate’s current state of health.
