Pop icon Taylor Swift spent much of the season cheering on the Chiefs, so the question now on the minds of many in Kansas City is whether Swift will be seen in the parade to celebrate her Super Bowl victory.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said at a press conference Monday afternoon that fans should “stay tuned” to see if Swift would make an appearance during Wednesday’s parade and victory rally.

While wearing a red and yellow friendship bracelet, Lucas said he couldn’t comment on Taylor Swift’s whereabouts on the day of the parade, but KCPD Chief Stacey Graves said officers are absolutely prepared for a change in security , including more than 600 agents, 250 outside agencies and around 34 other law enforcement agencies, as well as federal partners.

“Stay tuned. It’s a reason to watch the parade on Wednesday and for everyone to come out,” Lucas said.

Kansas City, the Kansas City Sports Commission and the Kansas City Chiefs will hold the Chiefs Kingdom Champions Parade and Victory Rally starting at 11 a.m. Wednesday downtown on 6th Street and Grand Avenue.

‘Swiftonomy’

Swift attended 13 Chiefs games after she started dating tight end Travis Kelce last summer and went viral several times for wearing a combination of vintage and locally sourced Chiefs gear.

Some officials even believe Swift’s influence could help attract new businesses and residents from outside the Midwest, further boosting Kansas City’s economy.

“We just caught lightning in a bottle,” said Tracey Lewis, president and CEO of the Economic Development Corp. of Kansas City. “I think that’s what a lot of business leaders in Kansas City are talking about.”

At the Chiefs game on December 10, Swift wore a vintage sweatshirt from Chris Harrington’s boutique, Westside Storey. He was dazzled, humiliated. But he also realized that he had found gold. “We’ve had orders from all over the country, all over the world,” Harrington said.

Sales increased 1,000% in the days that followed, Harrington said.

“For her to be here is exciting,” he said. “It’s amazing the platform she’s given to Kansas City.”

Could Taylor Swift appear?

Swift finished the Tokyo leg of her tour in time to make it to the Super Bowl and will next perform in Melbourne, Australia. Her show is on Friday at 6:20pm Melbourne time, which is 1:20am central time. Melbourne is 17 hours ahead of Kansas City.

A flight on Taylor Swift’s private jet from Kansas City to Melbourne would take just over 17 hours, including a 1.5-hour fuel stop, according to private jet charter service JetFinder. This means Taylor Swift would have to leave Kansas City before 8am on Thursday, February 15 to arrive at Melbourne Airport at the scheduled start time.

Swift has not commented on her plans.

Since the Kansas City Super Bowl parade takes place on February 14, you could theoretically spend Valentine’s Day at the parade with Travis Kelce and then make it to his show in Melbourne on time, although that would be difficult.
