Kiara Advani on marrying Sidharth Malhotra at the peak of her career: ‘There was a lot of talk about why she is…’

It was often considered that if an actress got married, it could negatively affect her career. Fortunately, things are changing for the better and that is no longer the case. In a recent interview, Kiara Advani spoke about the same and revealed that there were many similar conversations when she decided to marry Sidharth Malhotra in February 2023.

Kiara spoke to ABP when she thanked the audience for accepting actresses as characters they see on screen and not as someone who comes from a particular background. “When I was getting married, before we announced it publicly, there was a lot of talk about, ‘Oh my God! Why is she getting married now?, ‘She’s just getting to that phase’ and all that. But congratulations to the audience because I think they have evolved. We keep telling directors, producers or actors. But congratulations to the audience because they see you as a character. They don’t see you as someone who comes from a particular family. “If I’m married, if I’m a mother, if I’m someone’s daughter, whatever, that’s irrelevant at that point,” she said.

The 31-year-old actress also confirmed that she has signed two of the biggest films of her career after her marriage. While there are reports that Kiara will be seen in War 2 with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, she has already been confirmed for Don 3 with Ranveer Singh.

“I think I can say that after marriage I have signed two of my most important films. I think that’s changing now. Of course, all of our best actresses today are married. That says a lot in itself. That’s a positive change,” she said.

Kiara Advani married Sidharth Malhotra in February 2023. It was an intimate wedding ceremony in Rajasthan. Earlier this month, the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary when Sidharth shared a candid photo of them from one of their vacations along with Hasee Toh Phasee’s song Ishq Bulaava. “It’s not the journey or the destination that matters, it’s the company.
