Kiran Rao BREAKS Silence on Sandeep Reddy Vanga Slamming Aamir Khan: ‘Why Has He Taken…’

Filmmaker Kiran Rao has finally responded to Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s comment on Aamir Khan’s films. Reddy Vanga’s comments came after Kiran Rao allegedly criticized his films in one of his recent interviews. However, Rao, in his last interaction with a media portal, denied having commented on Reddy Vanga’s films and also shared his thoughts on his comments on Khan.

“I have never commented on Sandeep sir’s films because I have never seen them. I have often spoken about misogyny and the representation of women on screen. I have talked about it on various platforms at various times. But I have never taken the name of any movie because it is not a specific movie. You will have to ask him why Mr. Vanga assumed that he was referring to his film. I’ve never seen his film,” Rao told The Quint.

On Reddy Vanga’s statement that Aamir himself made misogynistic songs like ‘Khambe jaisi khadi hai’ back in the day, Rao said her ex-husband was one of the few people who apologized for it. “There are very few people who would look back at his work and apologize for doing something problematic in retrospect,” he added.

Responding to Rao’s alleged criticism, Reddy Vanga earlier said that he should “focus” on Khan’s films.

Reddy Vanga pointed out a scene from the movie Dil, where Aamir Khan’s character threatens a woman with assault but they end up falling in love. “I want to tell that woman (Kiran Rao) that she was the one who asked Aamir Khan about the song ‘Khambe jaisi khadi hai’, what was that? He then he comes back to me,” Reddy Vanga told Dainik Bhaskar.
