Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan got married in 2005 and separated in 2021. In a new interview With Pooja Talwar, Kiran spoke about her comeback film, Laapataa Ladies, which releases on March 1, and also talked about life after Aamir’s divorce. The filmmaker said that she and her ex-husband have a great relationship even today, as they are parents to her son Azad. ‘We have disagreements but never big fights’
When asked about working with Aamir (his Aamir Khan Productions has backed his latest film) after their divorce, Kiran Rao said: “Anyone who is married will tell you that marriage has its challenges. And I have certainly had my share. “There are fights and we have We deal with things. But actually, Aamir and I have never really fought, it’s very strange. We have our disagreements, but we never have big fights.”

Kiran added: “It’s also because I think we (she and Aamir) respect each other a lot. We understand each other quite well, it’s just a matter of finding the right argument to convince the other person or to be convinced. Our relationship is like that, and We’re both not too proud to agree (with each other). And that’s one of the advantages of having been in this marriage. We never saw any turbulence of the kind that a lot of people go through. We’ve had our share of ups and downs, but never anything that can even vaguely be described as antagonistic”.
Recently, Kiran Rao was in the news after reacting to Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s comments on Aamir Khan’s previous films. He praised Aamir for coming forward and apologized for his “problematic” work in the past.
