Kiran calls Laal Singh Chaddha’s failure ‘disappointing’
Kiran Rao said, βIt’s really disheartening when you put in all your effort and it doesn’t work, which is what happened with Laal Singh Chaddha. And it definitely affected Aamir deeply. It affected us all because it was a project that had gone through so many stages, it had been on the Covid-19 roller coaster. (Laal Singh Chaddha) had been a dream project for Aamir. He had been working on getting the rights to the script for a decade before we did it.”
He added: βSo, it was disappointing. I am very happy that people are responding well on social media (after the OTT release of Laal Singh Chaddha) because I feel the film didn’t get that many chances. But it didn’t work and we have to accept the fact that the public didn’t like it or didn’t want to see it.β
