Kyle Richards is shedding more light on what drove a wedge between her and ex-husband Mauricio Umansky.
“Things happened that made me lose confidence that I couldn’t recover from,” she tearfully admitted in a confessional during Wednesday’s “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” season 13 finale.
Richards did not reveal what events led her to feel this way, but during Wednesday’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” host Andy Cohen said Richards will reveal much more during the three-part reunion that begins Feb. 28.
Whatever happened between Richards and Umansky, it was apparently so bad that she admitted, “There’s a good chance we won’t end up together.”
In July 2023, sources he told the people that Umansky, 53, and Richards, 55, had “been separated for a while” but maintained a “friendly” dynamic living under the same roof.
They later issued a statement, saying that any rumors of an impending divorce were “false.” Still, they fully admitted that they had had a “tough year” and were working through their problems.
They’ve since said they’re “not going to throw in the towel” on their marriage (they’re not even headed toward divorce yet), but Richards’ words during Wednesday’s episode didn’t seem hopeful.
The “Halloween Kills” actress also opened up about her heartbreaking split with her co-star, Erika Jayne, and denied that cheating played a role.
“I think the hardest part about what we’re going through is that there’s nothing that big. That is the hardest part for me,” she noted.
“There are things I’ve been needing and wanting more of in my marriage that I just can’t get.”
He continued, “There’s literally nothing to do with anyone else. This is really just about Mo and me.”
“It’s not about our family, it’s not about outside family, it’s not about someone else on your side or mine. “It’s just about Mo and me.”
Richards, who admitted last week that she and Umansky decided they could each pursue other relationships during their separation, also reflected on how their marriage used to work so well after getting married in their 20s.
“When we met, we were really opposites… and that worked,” he recalled.
“You know, I always joked that if it weren’t for me, he would be dead, because I keep him safe. And if it weren’t for him, I would never take risks in life. And that worked.”
Richards also detailed during the episode how difficult it was to tell her four daughters about her separation because they had tried to keep their problems hidden.
“(When the news came out) they thought the rug had been pulled out from under them because things are worse than we thought,” he admitted.

Umansky also sat down with her daughters (Alexia Simone, 27, Sophia Kylie, 24, and Portia, 15) while they filmed the second season of Netflix’s “Buying Beverly Hills,” which premieres in March.
In a preview clip, the family becomes emotional when Umansky explains that he and Richards would lead separate lives.
The founder of the Agency also confirms that the actress began their separation.
The couple married in 1996 and have appeared on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” since its debut season in 2010.
Richards also has a 35-year-old daughter, Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie, from her first marriage to businessman Guraish Aldjufrie.
