Laapataa Ladies Box Office Collection Day 11: After performing reasonably well on its second Sunday, the film again suffered a drop in its collection on Monday. According to Sacnilk.com, Ladies Laapataa has almost won $9 crores nett in India, so far. The film stars newcomers Pratibha Ratna, Sparsh Shrivastav and Nitanshi Goel. The movie won $6.05 crores in the first week. Was collected $60 lakh on the 8th, $95 lakh on the 9th and $1.15 crores on the 10th. Laapataa Ladies earned barely $21 lakh nett in India on its 11th day, according to early estimates. So far, the film has collected $8.96 crores in India. The film was released in theaters to positive reviews from critics and audiences. Ladies Laapataa is directed by Kiran Rao.

Sneha Desai has written the dialogues and script. Additional dialogues are credited to Divyanidhi Sharma. The film is based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami.
Plot of the Laapataa Ladies
The film is a comical take on two girlfriends in rural India. Set in a fictional state called Nirmal Pradesh in 2001, Laapataa Ladies is the story of brides Phool and Pushpa. They are accidentally exchanged during a train ride. While one is taken home by another’s boyfriend, the other is left stranded at a train station. A police officer, Kishan, is in charge of investigating the case.
Pratibha Ranta in Kiran
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Pratibha praised the film’s director. Pratibha said, “She (Kiran) is a clear and concise director, she knows what she wants and understands her female characters well. I also felt valued because she gave her actors the freedom to share her opinions. I had the freedom to focus on my craft and not think about anything else.”
