Kiran Rao directed ‘Laapataa Ladies’ starring Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava and Ravi Kishan and it released in theaters today i.e. 1st March. Public reviews are available on the social media platform and early reviews show positive audience response to the film depicting rural India in 2001.
Film analyst Taran Adarsh has called Laapataa Ladies a fantastic film. In a post on X, he also praised the film for its originality, honesty and sincerity. He said the film has a novel premise, a captivating narrative flow, outstanding performances and a satisfying climax.
He wrote, “From the premise of the novel to the interesting sequence of events, the stellar performances and the magnificent ending, #LaapataaLadies deserves the HIGHEST PRAISE for its originality, honesty and sincerity… DON’T MISS IT,” Adarsh wrote.

About Laapataa Ladies
Laapataa Ladies is a story set in 2001 in rural India. It is about two young girlfriends who get separated during a train journey and what happens when Kishan, a police officer, is tasked with investigating the missing case. The film talks about a time when mobile phones were precious and the internet and technology didn’t make everything easily accessible. But Rao said he feels it’s still possible to identify with the story. The film has been produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions, scripted by Biplab Goswami while Divyanidhi Sharma has scored the additional dialogues.
