Laura Merritt Walker announced the death of her 3-year-old son, Callahan, following a “tragic accident.”

Merritt Walker, who collaborates with her sister Cristie Merritt Taylor on the lifestyle blog Merritt & Style, shared the news of his youngest son’s death on February 12. On Instagram.

“We are completely heartbroken to share that we lost our precious Callahan in a tragic accident last week. He was such a blessing and brought so much joy to our entire family,” she wrote along with pictures and a video of her little one.

The Texas-based blogger went on to say that she and her husband David Walker, with whom she shares Callahan and two grown children named Chamberlain and Beckham, were “devastated” by the death of their youngest son.

“Cal-Bear was absolutely adored by his older siblings and loved them beyond measure. As parents, we are completely devastated by the loss of our baby,” she wrote, adding that she took comfort in the thought that Callahan was now “held in the arms of Jesus.”

A representative from the Frisco Police Department in Texas confirmed to TODAY.com that officers “responded to a drowning call” involving Merritt Walker and her husband.

Merritt Walker concluded her post by telling her followers, “We would be honored to receive your prayers for the peace and strength of our family during this impossible time.”
