CHARLOTTE, NC – WCNC Charlotte reports that a dog belonging to actress Angie Harmon was shot and killed outside her Charlotte home over Easter weekend.

“This Easter weekend, a man delivering groceries for Instacart shot and killed our previous Oliver. He got out of his car, delivered the food, THEN shot our dog.”

Harmon wrote that the family’s Ring doorbell camera was charging inside the house, so the man “knew he wasn’t being recorded.”

According to Harmon, the man claimed self-defense and was not charged.

“He had no scratches or bites and his pants were not torn,” Harmon wrote.

WCNC reports that a police report filed by a CMPD officer after the incident classifies the event as “non-criminal.” The documentation does not detail what may have happened but does refer to the recovery of a shell casing, according to WCNC.

Instacart disabled the driver’s account and issued the following statement:

“We were deeply saddened and disturbed to learn of this incident. We do not tolerate violence of any kind and the buyer’s account was immediately suspended from our platform.”
