A source close to 91mobiles What appears to be a rough schematic of the iPhone 16 Pro has been leaked, showing the usual design with some slight modifications. The report also contains the exact dimensions, pointing to a larger screen. But first things first. Here are the leaked images.
As you can see, the iPhone 16 Pro is shown with the so-called capture button placed just below the power button on the right side of the frame. The button itself mimics the smooth shutter buttons found on cameras. A light press will focus the camera, while a full press will take a photo. Sony phones had this a while ago.
Additionally, the leak reports new dimensions: 149.6×71.4×8.4mm, which means the 16 Pro will be a little taller and also a little wider. This corroborates a previous report that the iPhone 16 Pro will launch with a 6.3-inch display, up from last year’s 6.1-inch panel. Plus, the schematics show some thin bezels, so we might see a larger iPhone 16 Pro after all.
The decision to make the Pro smaller this year could be due to design limitations. There’s a rumor that the iPhone 16 Pro will adopt the tretrapris telephoto camera from last year’s iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the hardware may not fit inside the existing iPhone 15 Pro.
Interestingly, this leak appears to directly contradict an image leaked in February showing a stack of vertical cameras.
Either way, we’re a long way from the actual launch of the iPhone 16 series in September, so we take each leak with a good dose of skepticism.
