Just over two weeks after the death of his wife, Melinda, there’s more heartbreaking news for Beach Boys frontman Brian Wilson.
According to multiple reportsIn a guardianship request this week, Wilson’s family said he is struggling with a “significant neurocognitive disorder (such as dementia).”
The family followed up that Thursday night with a post on Wilson’s X account, formerly Twitter.
“Following the passing of Melinda, Brian’s beloved wife, after careful consideration and consultation between Brian, his seven children, Gloria Ramos and Brian’s doctors (and in accordance with the family processes implemented by Brian and Melinda), we confirm that former Wilson family representatives LeeAnn Hard and Jean Sievers will serve as co-guardians of Brian’s person,” the lengthy statement read.
The publication added that the action was taken to “ensure that there will be no extreme changes to the home and that Brian and the children living in the home will be cared for and remain in the home where they are cared for by Gloria Ramos and the wonderful team.” in the house that have been there for many years helping to take care of the family.”
He closed by saying that Wilson “will be able to enjoy all of his family and friends and continue working on current projects, as well as participate in any activity he chooses.”

“She encouraged me to make the music that was closest to my heart,” the publication adds. “She was my anchor. She was everything to us. Please pray for her. Love and mercy, Brian.”
