rumors of a Strange Friday The sequel starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis has been circulating for years and it looks like a movie is finally in the works.
While being interviewed in Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM ShowLohan confirmed that a sequel to the 2003 film was in the works.
“I won’t say that yet. I don’t want to say too much,” Lohan told the host after he asked her if there was a timeline to begin production on the film.
And he added: “We are both excited. “I’m going to speak for Jamie.”
Lohan and Curtis have been open to starring in a sequel. In October 2022, Curtis was asked about The view whether she would reprise her role alongside Lohan and said she was “creatively open” to doing so.
Curtis even had an idea of what Strange Friday The sequel could look like this, saying: “Let me be the grandmother, let me be the older grandmother who changes places, so that Lindsay becomes the sexy grandmother who is still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways that you would be happy with “Mark Harmon.” .”

Strange Friday is based on a 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers about a mother and daughter whose bodies change after a magical Chinese fortune cookie. Curtis and Lohan were the mother-daughter duo, and Harmon played Curtis’ fiancé in the film.
The 2003 film starring Lohan and Curtis was the third film adaptation of the novel, following a 1976 film starring Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster and a 1995 television movie with Shelly Long and Gaby Hoffmann. Disney Channel most recently adapted Strange Friday in a musical film in 2018 starring Cozi Zuehlsdorff and Heidi Blickenstaff.
