Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique is looking forward to returning to Barcelona in the Champions League quarterfinals.
Lucho has given his verdict on the draw after seeing his team paired with Xavi’s in Friday’s draw.
“We were lucky because we returned to Spain and I returned to Barcelona, the city where I spent most of my sporting career,” he told reporters.
“We knew that the competition was going to present us with a very high-level team, with a lot of individual quality.
“The draw has two parts. We are in the part of the draw (with Barça, Atlético de Madrid and Borussia Dortmund) where the four of us have a chance of going to the final, it is great.
“But we will have to show (that we have the quality to reach the final) on the field. In the other half of the draw are the favorites with Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Arsenal. “It’s probably the hardest part of the two halves.”
Lucho also recalled Barça’s famous comeback against PSG, when he was coach, but insisted that the famous comeback was not the best moment of his coaching career.
“No, because we didn’t use it to win another Champions League! “Juve beat us,” he added.
“But no, it is not the most important game of my career. And, of course, everyone remembers the comeback but, to have a comeback, you have to remember that there was a previous comeback, a 4-0 defeat at the Parc des Princes. I also remember it very well. It’s part of history”.
PSG famously never won the Champions League, despite investing heavily to bring superstars like Neymar to the club, and were eliminated in the round of 16 last season.
