Actor Nitish Bharadwaj, known for his role as Lord Krishna in the television series Mahabharat, has lodged a complaint with the police alleging that his ex-wife, an IAS officer, kidnapped his two daughters and did not allow him to meet them, a senior said. official.

Bharadwaj submitted the written complaint to Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayaran Chari Mishra on Wednesday, following which an investigation was launched, he said.

In the complaint, the actor claimed that his IAS wife Smita Ghate, currently posted in Bhopal, was not allowing him to meet his daughters and sought help from the police.

“We have received the complaint from Nitish Bharadwaj that he is not allowed to meet his daughters. Additional Commissioner of Police Shalini Dikshit has been asked to launch an investigation,” Mishra told reporters.

Nitish Bharadwaj complained that his wife “kidnapped” his daughters and did not know their whereabouts, police sources said.

He alleged he was being subjected to “mental torture” and said his daughters were taken from a boarding school without his knowledge and sent to an unknown location.

Bharadwaj demanded that a kidnapping case be registered against his ex-wife and said their (marital dispute) case was pending in a family court.

He claimed that the family court had given an order allowing him to reunite with his daughters, but she would not allow him to do so. Bharadwaj demanded custody of his two daughters, sources said.

When contacted, Ghate only said that she would give a statement on the matter after watching the video (of Bharadwaj on the issue) and refused to speak further.
