Issues between Mahabharat star Nitish Bharadwaj and his ex-wife Smita Bharadwa are not a secret. In recent months, the two have leveled several accusations against each other. In a recent interview, Nitish made a shocking allegation and claimed that she had suffered abuse in the marriage.

“In this marriage, I have faced extreme amounts of abuse of all kinds, and even now, with my parents’ alienation, they are taking both of my children away from me. If I tell you just the two lines that my 11-year-old daughters said to me: ‘Dad, it makes us sick to call you our father’, this is what a girl told me,” Nitish told Telly Talk.

Nitish further argued that he does not know how to deal with the agitation that has been going on. He also reacted to his wife’s accusation that he was asking for money and said: “It is a lie that I am asking for money. I’m asking for my money because they scammed me. I feel like I’m cheated. So today it is my children’s battle that I am fighting. So I don’t know if I can do justice to any other woman. The institution of marriage is special to me. I believe in that. “I’ve seen many, many successful marriages, including my parents’ marriage.”

For the uninformed, last month, Nitish Bharadwaj filed a police complaint against his wife Smita Gate, who works as additional chief secretary of the MP Human Rights Commission, alleging harassment and unruly behaviour. Nitish reportedly accused Smita in her complaint of stopping him from meeting her twin daughters, Devyani and Shivranjani. He also alleged that his wife has been changing her daughters’ school to make it difficult for her to access them, which he claimed has negatively impacted her mental well-being.

Nitish is best known for playing Lord Krishna in the hit television series Mahabharat. He has also starred in other popular shows and movies like Vishnu Puran, Mohenjo Daro, Kedarnath and Samantar Seasons 1-2. Bharadwaj’s portrayal of Lord Krishna was greatly admired and adored by the audience and he became a demigod with the character.
