Before Guntur Kaaram materialized, Trivikram wanted to work on a large-scale action film with Mahesh Babu. Both Mahesh and Trivikram promised to address this issue only and announced it with a glance. But Mahesh changed his mind after a few days and suggested Trivikram to go with a family entertainer as he first wanted to do a pan-Indian film with Rajamouli.
Due to this, Trivikram prepared and worked on a new script which turned out to be Guntur Kaaram. Due to limited time and the goal of releasing the film on Sankranthi, the film was on set for 4-5 months with a rushed shoot resulting in a below average film.
It is definitely a mistake of both Trivrikam and Mahesh Babu. Asking for a change of story is Mahesh’s mistake and tackling the family story with a different promo, title and script is Trivikram’s mistake.
After the outcome of Guntur Kaaram, Mahesh reportedly promised Trivikram that he would work on the action film that was initially planned when Trivikram changed his plan. But this film will not happen soon and will release after the film with Rajamouli.
