Makeup Artists and Hair Stylist Guild Awards 2024 Winners List – Live Update

Master, Saltburn and Barbie were the big film winners at the 11th Annual Makeup Artists and Hair Stylist Guild Awards, which were presented tonight at The Beverly Hilton. See the full list of winners below.

There were two more double winners tonight: the commercial and music video awards for hair and makeup went to American Horror Story: Delicateand the Theatrical Makeup and Hairstyling awards were swept by How the Grinch Stole Dr. Seuss’ Christmas! The musical.

The show opened with a tribute to five-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening, who received the MUAHS Distinguished Craftsman honor. Green, who joined IATSE Local 706, said in 1977, “I’m so happy to be here that I can’t tell you. Because I’ve never had anything take my breath away, and this did. … I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”

Billed as “a true makeup genius,” Michael Westmore, whose five-decade resume includes a record 45 Emmy nominations and ranges from Elizabeth Taylor’s stunning beauty to bloody Rocky series and the Romulans in multiple Star Trek series – received the group’s Vanguard Award.

He did what Armin Sherman described as “groundbreaking and strikingly realistic” makeup for Robert De Niro’s Jake LaMotta in raging bull, but the Film Academy had yet to establish a regular Oscar for hair and makeup. “People say that raging bull It prompted the Academy to finally recognize the artistry of makeup and hairstyling with its own award,” Sherman said.
