Mario Day 2024: everything Nintendo announced

Over the weekend Nintendo held its annual mario day celebration on March 10. That celebration included a slew of Switch game and accessory sales, some of which you can still take advantage of by checking out our sales guide– and some surprise announcements from Nintendo itself in honor of the beloved plumber.

These announcements included confirmation of release dates for upcoming games, the revival of some retro classics, and a message of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamato. Here’s everything Nintendo revealed on Mario Day.

A new Super Mario Bros. Movie

in a message from Shigeru MiyamatoIt was announced that a new animated film, “based on the world of Super Mario Bros.” is in production at Illumination and will be released on April 3, 2026. Release dates for two upcoming games
