At the Season 11 premiere of the Fox singing competition series on March 6, host Nick Cannon received a major joke after a night of rock performances.
After new contestants Goldfish, Starfish, Ugly Sweater and Lovebird took the stage to impress the judges. Jenny McCarthy, Robin Thick, Rita prays and Ken Jung with their respective covers, the night ended with a surprise twist after Book performed a rendition of Ne YoThe song “So Sick.”
“One of the loveliest performances I’ve ever seen,” Nick said, and the Book said this was his “most novel experience yet.”
But when it came time for the final candidate reveal, it turned out that he wasn’t actually a mystery celebrity vying for The masked singer title: He was Cannon’s best friend and his old rival in pranks. Kevin Hart!
After Robin correctly guessed it was the comedian, the Book took off his costume and surprised the panelists with his identity.
