Matt Damon has revealed that not everything in last week’s Dunkin’ Super Bowl commercial was scripted.

During a visit to The last show with Stephen Colbert On Tuesday, Damon opened up about filming the popular ad alongside his friends Ben Affleck and Tom Brady.

The ad was one of the most popular during the game and an extended cut has since been released. The spot features the trio’s entire journey to pop stardom, including the formation of boy band The DunKings.

On Colbert’s show, Damon revealed his joke at the end of the ad, in which he tells Affleck, “Remember how I said I would do anything for you? This is anything” – it was an improvisation.

“I actually told him that when we were filming,” Damon said. “And he just left it there.”

Affleck should not seek future favors. “No matter how much time we have on this beautiful planet, he no longer has a chip on me,” Damon said.

The ad featured the trio in orange, pink and white tracksuits.

“That’s clearly not my idea,” Damon said when confronted with a photo. “We had a lot of fun doing it, though.”
