Mayim Bialik criticizes Oscar attendees for their lax support for Israeli hostages

Mayim Bialik took to social media today to express her disappointment that more support for the Hamas hostages taken in the October 7 raid was not expressed at the Oscars.

“Of course I have opinions about a lot of things that happened at the Oscars, both on the red carpet and on stage, but here’s what I’ll say: I wish every human being at the Oscars had worn a yellow ribbon to show its support for Hamas to immediately return hostages who have been held since they were captured from their homes on October 7, including American citizens. The ceasefire offer on the table calls for the return of the captive women, the elderly and the wounded. Hamas has rejected it. #BringThemHome

The ceasefire pins among the guests and Oscar nominees were numerous on the red carpet, with poor things actor Ramy Youssef, Oscar-nominated supporting actor Mark Ruffalo for that film, as well as the Barbie “What was I made for?” The songwriting team of Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell put on the pns.

Youssef told Deadline, “This is for Artists for Ceasefire” about the pin. “We have a growing list of artists who want an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza,” the actor added. “To be really universal, it’s about stopping killing children,” he continued.

Earlier this year, Bialik had an author chat interrupted by protesters who disagreed with his views.
