In his memoirs, published in 2022 as a prelude to his presidential candidacy, Pence continually referred his former running mate as “my friend” while chastising him for his conduct on January 6, which Pence wrote “I had endangered my family and everyone who serves in the Capitol.”
Pence said Friday that he was “incredibly proud of our administration’s record. “It was a conservative record that made America more prosperous, safer, and saw conservatives appointed to our courts in a more peaceful world.”
