This is a situation you don’t want to find yourself in.
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino took to Instagram on Saturday to reveal that his two-year-old son, Romeo, choked on a piece of pasta on Thursday.
The star of “Jersey Shore” shared Ring camera images of the terrifying incident, showing how he and his wife, Lauren, saved the boy’s life.
In the clip, Mike and Lauren can be seen sitting at the table with Romeo and their daughter, 1-year-old Mia Bella, when their son starts having difficulties.
Mike, 41, and Lauren, 39, quickly spring into action and try to determine what’s going on before removing the piece of food from their son’s mouth.
“THE MOST TERRIFYING MOMENT OF OUR LIVES ‼️ It was a normal dinner at Situations when suddenly, without warning, Romeo started choking on his favorite pesto pasta gnocchi!! He hunched over and wasn’t breathing 😩,” Sorrentino wrote alongside the video.
Mike went on to say that he and Lauren did what they could to stay calm.
“I’m so proud of how my wife and I didn’t panic, didn’t hesitate, and finally dislodged the food that was blocking her airway and saved her life,” he continued.

“I love my family with all my heart and I am so grateful that everything turned out well 🙏🏼.”
Due to the terrifying incident, Mike plans to take CPR lessons. He also said that he and Lauren will stop giving the two-year-old his favorite gnocchi for the time being.
Following the revelation, Mike’s “Jersey Shore” co-stars took to the comments section to react.
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi commented: “So scary! Poor Romeo! You guys are wonderful parents,” while Sammi Giancola wrote, “OMG I’m so glad he’s okay! ❤️”.
Jenni “JWoww” Farley also said, “🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 thank God everything is okay.”
Mike and Lauren, who tied the knot in November 2018, are currently expecting their third child together.
They announced the happy news in September 2023 with a cute post that read, “Good things come in threes 🥹 We’re adding another pumpkin to our patch 🙏🏼 Baby number 3 will arrive in March 2024.”
They welcomed their first son, Romeo, in May 2021 before Lauren gave birth to their second child, Mia Bella, less than two years later in January 2023.
