The prestigious Miss World 2024 beauty pageant was held last weekend in India and Czech Krystyna Pyszkova was crowned the winner. Karolina Bielawska, the former Miss World from Poland, was crowned her successor during the star-studded final in Mumbai. After the win, Krystyna Pyszkova engaged in a candid conversation about the cause she wants to work on as the reigning Miss World. Furthermore, the diva also spoke about her love for Indian cinema. Speaking on Zoom, Krystyna Pyszkova revealed that one of her favorite Hindi films has the song Laija Laija. She hinted at the famous song Bole Chudiyan from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. When she was asked if she was a fan of Shah Rukh Khan, Miss World nodded affirmatively. Furthermore, she stated that Priyanka Chopra, who is not a global star, also inspires her.

Krystyna Pyszkova’s love for India goes beyond Bollywood. The beauty queen also loves to gorge on Indian food, with butter chicken being her favorite. During the interview she stated that she has eaten the dish almost every day while she was in the country.

Krystyna works as a model in addition to completing a double degree in law and business administration. She founded the Krystyna Pyszko Foundation and is now actively involved in its efforts. In the chat she mentioned that she firmly believes that education has helped eradicate poverty and that is why she wants to promote this cause.

Meanwhile, Miss Lebanon Yasmina Zaytoun was chosen first runner-up. India, represented by Sini Shetty, failed to reach the top four of the competition. The panel of 12 judges for the final included film producer Sajid Nadiadwala, Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hegde, cricketer Harbhajan Singh, news personality Rajat Sharma, social worker Amruta Fadnavis, Vineet Jain, MD of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Limited, Julia Morley, President and CEO of Miss World Organization, Jamil Saidi, Strategic Partner and Host of Miss World India, and three former Miss World including Manushi Chhillar.

The event was hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar and former Miss World Megan Young, and started on a high note with performances by singers Shaan, Neha Kakkar and Tony Kakkar. India hosted the beauty pageant after 28 years.
