On the morning of February 10, veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty was hospitalized at a private facility in Kolkata after suffering a stroke. Despite encountering minor difficulties in speech and problems in movement of his right hand, Mithun Chakraborty remains stable, the hospital said. Chakraborty has been shifted from the ICU to a cabin for further care. Namashi Chakraborty assured that his father is improving and stated: “He has been filming in Calcutta.” The veteran actor is currently shooting for Pathikrit Basu’s film titled ‘Shashtri’. He added, “Dada plays Parimal Shastri, an astrologer. We have a 23-day schedule. Friday ended around 6 pm after a shoot in Baranagar. The next morning he complained of feeling unwell and was immediately taken to the hospital. The hospital also issued an official statement regarding Mithun Chakraborty’s health. ‘Shri Mithun Chakraborty, National Award-winning actor, was brought to the Emergency Department around 9:40 am with complaints of weakness in upper and lower extremities Right. Necessary laboratory and radiological examinations were carried out, including MRI of the brain. He has been diagnosed with Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) of the brain. He is currently fully conscious, well oriented and is on a soft diet. Shri Chakraborty is being further evaluated by a team of doctors, including a neurophysician, a cardiologist and a gastroenterologist.
