– Tests detected again.

– It will have a front disc brake and a rear drum brake.

– It could be launched in June this year.

The upcoming Bajaj CNG motorcycle has been spotted testing once again, and this time the spy photos reveal new details of its design and hardware. So far, the test mule has been spotted several times and appears to be getting closer to the production model.

Although the spy photo is a bit blurry, it looks like Bajaj might equip the CNG bike with a projector headlamp flanked by bulb indicators. This gives it a touch of modernity while maintaining the production cost. The hardware then comprises a simple configuration. The test mule is seen with telescopic front fork, monoshock, single front disc and rear drum brake. It has not yet been determined if this bike will feature ABS.

Another angle shows a horizontally arranged engine. This could be done to accommodate the CNG tank, which we believe is located right above the engine. Talking about the engine displacement, although it is yet to be revealed, Bajaj is targeting the 100-160 cc segment in India. Apart from that, the bike is also equipped with handlebar guards, headlight hood, engine crash guards, and a grab handle. They are likely added for protection and to contribute to the visual mass of the relatively thin-looking traveler.

While the Chakan-based bike maker has other products aimed at the rural market, the upcoming CNG bike could meet the needs of cities with wide availability of CNG pumps. But this also raises concerns about mileage and the inconvenience of refueling during monsoon, when the passenger has to wait in long queues. All this will only be known in the coming months as Bajaj is likely to launch the bike in June this year.
