If you feel a little lighter this morning, with a happy step and a song in your heart, I think I know the reason: there will be a new Dragon Ball anime this year, and now you can watch just a little bit. More of that.
First announced at New York Comic Con 2023, Dragon Ball Daima is a new anime series that will take the cast of Dragon Ball and turn them into little child versions of themselves for a big adventure in a new world. The creative team hasn’t said much more about it beyond that; The mystery is a big part of the hook here. Not that there really needs to be any kind of big reveal: the Dragon Ball franchise started out as an action comedy about a young Son Goku and his friends, and it’s really cool to see it return to something like that.
Like much of Dragon Ball’s marketing, the latest trailer for daima It’s mostly footage of Goku, but it’s also our first look at the action focus of the series, and I love it. Is it Goku spanking an alien’s ass with his Power Pole while he tries to eat at a table full of food? That’s Dragon Ball, for me.
