Since the servers are so busy, some players have started logging in helldivers 2 and play a few matches and then never leave the game. This AFK problem has grown so much that on February 19, Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt confirmed on Twitter that I was talking to the team about implementing a change to ban AFK players in a future update. It looks like that feature is already available in the game.
Of course, as some players have already pointed out, this won’t be a perfect solution.
