The Recording Academy mistakenly tweeted that Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice were the winners of the Grammy for Best Rap Song, even though the award actually went to Killer Mike.

The organization mistakenly posted on X that the duo, who were competing for the award for their song Barbie World, had won the trophy, before deleting the tweet with the correct winner.

‘Congratulations to the winners of Best Rap Song: “Best World (from Barbie’s album)” @nickiminaj and @icespicee_ featuring Aqua,” the Recording Academy originally tweeted.

That tweet was later deleted and one was posted announcing Killer Mike as the winner. ‘Congratulations to the winner of Best Rap Song – “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS” @killermike ft. Andre 3000, @1future and @ErynAllenKane,’ the account posted.

The mishap didn’t go unnoticed by fans, with one tweeting: ‘Why would the Grammys post about Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice n saying they won the Grammys in a tweet and then just delete it…?’
