Nikki and Brie Garcia have issued a vague statement amid sexual assault and trafficking allegations against WWE founder Vince McMahon and the organization’s former head of talent relations, John Laurinaitis, who is her stepfather.
“We are shocked and disheartened by the recent allegations against members of the WWE,” said the twins and retired wrestlers, 40. shared via a joint Instagram post Monday.
“We’ve been processing a lot since we found out last week, just like all of you have,” they continued. “This is something we do not tolerate or tolerate from anyone, no matter who they are.”
They concluded: “We want all women to feel safe and supported in the workplace and in their daily lives.”
Many commentators were quick to condemn the Garcias for not naming the accused, specifically Laurinaitis.
“Nikki… Brie… I can’t imagine how you feel, but calling them ‘WWE members’ like he’s not your literal stepdad… come on…” one reviewer commented.
Someone else added: “Is this weird? Isn’t your stepfather involved? Why comment on this…and with this hollow response, especially considering you’re not even at the company anymore? Unless you have something substantial to say, you could have kept this silly statement.”
A third wrote: “To be honest, this post seems deliberately misleading. Saying ‘WWE members’ distances you from the fact that one of those ‘members’ is your stepfather. “This feels like a ‘cover our asses’ post.”
However, some felt sympathy for Nikki and Brie’s mother, Kathy Laurinaitis, who married John, who wrestled under the name Johnny Ace, in March 2016.
“This is heartbreaking. To think that your mom found a good man and then all this comes to light, I would feel devastated,” one follower lamented.

A former WWE employee named Janel Grant sued McMahon and John last week, accusing them of depraved “sexual slavery.”
In her lawsuit, Grant alleged that McMahon, 78, had sexual relations with her that caused her injuries, sometimes with sex toys. named after fighting stars – before pimping her out to other company executives, including John, when he worked there.
Grant alleged in her complaint that McMahon and John, 61, once forced themselves on her and took turns holding her while they sexually assaulted her at the WWE offices in 2021.

“I stand by my previous statement that Ms. Grant’s lawsuit is filled with lies, made-up obscene cases that never occurred, and is a vindictive distortion of the truth,” McMahon said in a statement. “I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless allegations and look forward to clearing my name.”
He continued: “However, out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary business of TKO and its board members and shareholders, partners and constituents, and all the employees and superstars who helped make WWE the global leader it is today , I have decided to resign from my executive presidency and from the board of directors of TKO, effective immediately.”
John did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
