KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WAFB) – The LSU women’s basketball team won against Tennessee on Sunday, February 25, by a score of 75-60.

Hailey Van Lith recorded a season-high 26 points while leading the teams to victory over the Lady Vols inside Thompson-Boling Arena.

Van Lith led all scorers with a season-high 26 points on 9-18 from the field with 4 three-pointers. Transfer’s 12 points in the fourth quarter gave the Tigers the boost they needed at the end. He also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out three assists with no turnovers.

“Hailey has taken a lot of criticism and it needs to end,” coach Kim Mulkey said. “He learned a new position, he is on an important team in the country: the defending national champions, he has to play as a point guard and today he went off guard. He didn’t have a single turnover (and it’s spelled that big) in almost 37 minutes of play. That’s the most important statistic in my opinion, I know he scored 26 and had three assists. “She hit big shots in the game when we needed a shot the most.”

The Tigers look forward to their next matchup against Georgia on Thursday. LSU will face the Bulldogs at 8 pm CT on ESPN2 inside Stegman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia. The Tigers will then return home for Senior Day against Kentucky next Sunday, March 3.
